Net Repayment

These will require a manual calculation by the payroll team. If your letter does not include the net amount, please review the gross repayment options.

Please note: some overpayment scenarios can use multiple repayment options. 

Check

A check payable to Western Washington University for the net amount of the overpayment with a memo line that states your W# and “overpayment for L202 15000.” It can be for the full overpayment or for the agreed upon payment installments. For security reasons, these cannot be sent through interoffice mail.

Submit a payment through the eMarket site linked above for the full overpayment amount or for the agreed upon payment installments. Please note, if you choose to pay by debit or credit rather than an eCheck, the system will automatically add a 5% fee. 

Installment Deductions

A repayment plan spread over multiple paycheck deductions until the overpayment is fully repaid. This is determined by an agreement between the employee and the university. On average, employee’s select two to three paychecks to recover the amount. Further regulation can be found in individual bargaining agreements.
